I love this espresso machine and partner it with the Basket Plus due to making espresso anywhere and anytime. Well built and creates great espresso!
I got the basket plus so I could make a larger shot then the smaller portafilters that came with the Nano. It is completely necessary as my kit came with three portafilters. I can load them all up and re-load the Nano after each pull. I have never tried letting the Nano heat the water so I can't comment on that. It is real simple to put on a pot and grind up some beans as I wait for the water to heat up. This way I can get crazy amounts of pulls without re-charging the machine. In fact, I haven't done a second re-charge since I got it and I use it about daily. I got it for camping, but it is now pretty much my daily coffee maker. I even did a little Arabian thing with it by adding a little cardamon - yummy.
